About this plan
Alithya is committed to fostering an inclusive environment that respects the dignity and independence of all individuals, including people with disabilities. This multi-year accessibility plan outlines the strategies and actions we have taken—and will continue to take—to identify, remove and prevent barriers to accessibility in alignment with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005 and its Regulations (the “AODA”). This plan will be reviewed at least every five years to ensure continued compliance with the AODA.
1. Training and awareness
Alithya is committed to fostering awareness and providing comprehensive accessibility training. We have implemented—and will continue to enhance—practices and training initiatives to ensure that all employees understand their responsibilities under the AODA and the Ontario Human Rights Code, including:
- Providing training on Ontario accessibility laws and the Human Rights Code as it relates to people with disabilities, as part of new employee onboarding and on an ongoing basis to reflect updates to Alithya’s accessibility policies.
- Tracking and recording training completion, including the number of employees trained.
- Establishing procedures for all employees to review Alithya’s accessibility policies annually.
2. Information and communication
Alithya is committed to meeting the communication needs of people with disabilities. We have taken and will continue to take steps to provide information in accessible formats and with communication support.
- We will take reasonable steps to ensure that our website complies with WCAG 2.0 Level AA requirements, in accordance with Ontario’s accessibility laws.
- We will communicate with people with disabilities in ways that accommodate their specific needs.
- We have taken and will continue to take reasonable steps to ensure that our feedback processes are accessible by providing or arranging accessible formats and communication support upon request.
3. Employment
Alithya is committed to fair and accessible employment practices. We have taken and will continue to take steps to accommodate people with disabilities throughout the employment lifecycle.
- We are committed to maintaining an inclusive and accessible recruitment process. This includes clearly communicating our commitment to accessibility in all job postings and providing accommodations upon request.
- We ensure that employees with disabilities are accommodated throughout the performance management, career development and redeployment processes.
- We provide personalized Workplace Emergency Response Plans to employees who have disclosed a disability and require assistance in the event of an emergency.
4. Customer service
Alithya is committed to providing its services in a manner that respects the dignity and independence of people with disabilities, including our visitors.
- We welcome visitors with disabilities who are accompanied by a service animal and/or support person.
- We will make every reasonable effort to support and accommodate visitors with personal assistive devices.
5. Design of public spaces
As a service-oriented organization, Alithya does not currently design, manage, or provide self-service kiosks or public spaces; therefore, related accessibility standards are not applicable.
However, should Alithya assume responsibility for any public-facing service elements (such as service counters or kiosks) in the future, we are committed to ensuring that these fully comply with the accessibility standards.
