The study identifies several important findings:

  1. Regular cybersecurity training for employees: 50% of respondents carry out regular cyber safety training for their employees, which is critical towards building a culture where workers can identify potential threats and respond appropriately.
  2. Advanced technology systems: Manufacturers have been investing more in modern technological systems with robust security features such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and encryption technologies to secure sensitive data. 49% of respondents reported investing in more advanced technologies.
  3. Implementing safeguards: 41% of the respondents have been utilizing a multi-factor   authentication method to enhance their cybersecurity operations.
  4. Comprehensive security practices: It is also important that both IT and OT security practices include routine audits, vulnerability assessments, and incident response plans because these will help detect early warning signs about breaches before they occur. 31% of respondents reported working with consultants and experts in cybersecurity.
  5. Staff awareness and reporting processes: Clear guidelines should be established within organizations regarding how staff members report suspicious activities which may significantly enhance an organization’s capacity to react swiftly against external attacks. 24% of respondents reported establishing an incident response plan.
