Your role, your impact

As a team lead, financial reporting, you will oversee and coordinate the external reporting process and contribute to special projects. You will report to the director of financial reporting and will collaborate the finance staff as well as with other teams. You will be responsible for supervising the staff, reviewing the team’s work, and managing key financial reporting deliverables.

Your day-to-day

  • Oversee and coordinate the quarterly and annual consolidated financial review process to ensure financial information is accurate, timely and relevant, and ensure compliance with SOX requirements;

  • Prepare quarterly management discussion and analysis, and collaborate in the preparation of financial information for the audit committee, board presentations and earnings release;

  • Manage the filing of quarterly and annual SEC filings (Forms 6-K and 20-F), including the review of XBRL filings and the Ontario Securities Commission filings;

  • Contribute to the preparation of quarterly consolidated financial statements in accordance with IFRS;

  • Manage the chart of accounts and mapping;

  • Develop financial reports for analysis through combination and consolidation of information from various systems, and prepare financial analysis as required;

  • Oversee certain corporate and consolidated aspects of the budgeting process;

  • Assist in analyzing technical accounting issues, including agreements and contracts, and prepare accounting position memorandums;

  • Participate in the integration of new subsidiaries;

  • Ensure compliance with Alithya’s procedures, mapping and controls, including SOX requirements, as well as operational accounting integration within multidisciplinary teams (e.g., Taxation, Legal, Treasury);

  • Lead and participate in finance projects;

  • Lead quarterly reviews and annual audits with external auditors;

  • Identify, document and implement internal accounting procedures.

Keys to your success

  • CPA designation with at least 5 years of public accounting experience or equivalent industry experience in accounting;

  • Experience with financial modelling;

  • Strong knowledge of IFRS and various interfacing systems;

  • Solid knowledge of Excel and other Microsoft Office tools, including SmartView;

  • Ability to optimize use of information technology and best business practices;

  • Ability to manage priorities whilst respecting deadlines and to work in project mode;

  • Understanding of purchase accounting and the application of accounting principles;

  • Excellent organizational, analytical, interpersonal and communication skills.

Extra edge

  • Experience with Oracle and Workiva.

Language skills

  • French: Advanced
  • English: Proficient

Please note that due to the nature of the responsibilities of the position, an advanced level of English is required, in particular to communicate on a daily basis with employees and managers outside of Quebec.
