As a junior hardware designer, you will join a technical project team to tackle challenging and interesting projects, primarily within the nuclear industry, delivering technical documentation, hardware, and software to clients. In this role, you will be required to maintain a high level of professionalism, client confidentiality and ethical standards, while adapting effectively to changes in the project scope and client requirements. If you are comfortable in an engineering computer lab and client-facing situations, results-driven, flexible, take ownership of tasks and enjoy variety in your work, then this role is for you

  • Prepare and review engineering design documentation;

  • Develop and execute test plans and procedures;

  • Produce requirement and design documents related to the project scope, as well as testing documents if required;

  • Prepare and review hardware designs to meet requirements, stringent safety standards and regulatory requirements;

  • Work closely with other engineers, physicists and regulatory bodies to integrate hardware designs into larger nuclear systems;

  • Interface with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure client satisfaction.

Does this sound like you?

  • Bachelor’s degree (or similar post-secondary education) in computer, electrical or electronic engineering, with demonstrated academic excellence;

  • 1 to 5 years of experience developing and testing digital control systems or electronic solutions;

  • Experience in reverse engineering and/or replacement of obsolete components;

  • Experience in creating engineering documentation;

  • Proficiency in understanding and reading engineering drawings;

  • Strong foundation in electric instrumentation and control (I&C);

  • Knowledge of digital control system hardware and electronic designs;

  • Strong focus on client needs and alignment of services accordingly;

  • Effective time management to meet deadlines and maintain productivity;

  • Commitment to continuous learning to stay updated on evolving technologies and best practices;

  • Clear and effective communication, fostering strong relationships with clients and team members.

Assets:

  • Professional Engineers license in Ontario (or pursuing);

  • Experience in the nuclear industry;

  • Commissioning and installation experience;

  • Valid security clearance.

Language skills:
  • English: Proficient
