Your role, your impact

As the Director, Global Remuneration, and reporting to the Vice-President, Total Rewards and HR Operations, within the Human Capital (HC) team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing comprehensive compensation programs that align with Alithya’s strategic objectives, in a global environment. You will ensure that compensation practices are competitive, equitable, and compliant with all relevant regulations. You will work closely with HC leadership, business leaders, and external partners to develop and execute compensation strategies that attract, retain, and motivate top talent. In this sense, you will provide relevant recommendations in a context of organic growth as well as acquisitions. You will also be responsible for managing, planning, coordinating and supervising the activities of a team of qualified compensation professionals.

Your day-to-day

Compensation strategy:

  • Develop and implement a global compensation strategy that supports the company’s business objectives;

  • Ensure that compensation programs are comprehensive, competitive and aligned with industry standards.

Leadership and management:

  • Lead and manage the annual compensation cycles, including the salary review process and management of incentive compensation programs;

  • Lead and manage the administration of base salary, incentive plans, equity programs, and other compensation-related initiatives, and ensure that all programs are executed effectively and efficiently.

Market analysis:

  • Conduct regular market analysis in all global geographies to ensure that compensation practices are competitive and compliant;

  • Provide recommendations for adjustments based on market trends and data.

Compliance:

  • Ensure that all compensation practices comply with global and local regulations;

  • Stay current with changes in laws and regulations;

  • Evaluate, analyze and ensure the governance of existing compliance programs globally.

Collaboration:

  • Work closely with HC leadership, business leaders, and external partners to develop, communicate and implement compensation programs;

  • Provide guidance and support to HC business partners and managers on compensation-related matters.

Communication:

  • Develop and deliver communication materials to educate employees and managers about compensation programs;

  • Ensure that all stakeholders understand the value and purpose of the programs.

Budget management:

  • Manage the compensation budget and ensure that all programs are cost-effective and aligned with the company’s financial goals.

Continuous improvement:

  • Continuously evaluate and improve compensation programs to ensure they meet the needs of the business and employees;

  • Build, improve and present operational and executive total rewards models;

  • Participate in due diligence reviews, and develop and manage integration plans for acquisitions.

Team management:

  • Coordinate, supervise and evaluate the work of your team members;

  • Ensure that you provide the necessary support to your collaborators in achieving their objectives, both personal and related to their professional development.

Support:

  • Complete work in an autonomous and proactive way while addressing all priorities and management initiatives;

  • Ensure successful deployment and implementation of all compensation programs.

Keys to your success

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration or a related field;

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in compensation management, including at least 5 years managing compensation in a global context, including being exposed to compensation programs in other countries and having experience with mergers and acquisitions;

  • In-depth knowledge and experience managing and tracking short- and long-term incentive compensation plans;

  • Expert-level understanding of compensation trends, pay equity, compensation administration, regulations, and financial modelling with the ability to present and train individuals on compensation-related topics;

  • Inspirational leadership skills and ability to maintain an engaged, high-performing team;

  • Strong project management skills;

  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail;

  • Ability to use data to develop and present recommendations to senior management by asking thought-provoking questions and contributing new ideas.

Extra edge

  • Relevant certifications (CHRP, CCP, CBP).

  • French: Proficient
  • English: Proficient

Please note that due to the nature of the responsibilities of the position, a proficient level of English is required, in particular to communicate on a daily basis with employees and managers outside of Quebec.
