30 Jun Alithya receives a Maestria Award for its Centraide campaign

logo centraide octOn March 18, over 250 representatives of local companies, institutions, and community organizations attended the recognition event of the 2013 Centraide Québec City and Chaudière-Appalaches fundraising campaign. This eagerly awaited annual event showcases workplaces that have made a special effort during the fall campaign.

During the evening, Alithya received a Maestria Award** (average donation of at least $52 and a participation rate of at least 50%) and was recognized as a major partner, having collected a total amount of at least $20,000 during the 2013 campaign.

A whopping $12,013,340 was collected! This all-time record exceeded this year’s target of $11,800,000 and represents a 6.2% increase over last year.

Remember that the money Centraide Québec City and Chaudière-Appalaches collects in the region is invested here. For each dollar collected last fall, at least 85¢ was returned in the form of donations and services to some 185 organizations and 15 community development initiatives working in the field to help people struggling with food insecurity, school dropout problems, homelessness, delinquency, violence, drug addiction, mental illness, isolation, and more. They carry out over 250,000 effective, well-organized actions a year that enable an impressive number of vulnerable people to not only get out of difficult situations and regain hope and dignity, but also to reassert themselves as full members of society.
